my first bloggy thingy. (jo)

It's Sunday and I'm not going to try and top Chris' first post, just note some random observations and let people know we made it here (home?) okay. Once we quit stealing internet from a neighbor and get our own line (see Chris' post about the dizzying circular process of setting up shop in London), I will write something more inspiring. For right now, we are averaging about 7 minutes of consecutive time online, so time is of the essence.

First of all, our Landlord is like a fairy godmother. She was here when we arrived, helped with bags, STOCKED OUR FRIDGE, stocked our medicine cabinet, had fresh sheets on the bed, and left us with our keys until we felt normal. This lady is amazing, organic foods, Tom's toothpaste, a new duvet cover and even flowers in a vase. Walking around the neighborhoods (borough?) over the past few days, we have seen many many flats for let, so maybe she was trying to make a good impression. If that was her plan, she has succeeded.

The flat itself is not as frightening as 513 square feet once sounded. The rooms are well proportioned and it seems like it will work for the two of us. Everything is in good shape and nearly brand new. The yard is sweet, maybe the size of our old front yard. Better yet, Wandsworth Common is a five minute walk from here and it is a huge huge green space. The area is lovely. I think everything will look lovely to us. Charming and old and mysterious. So far, I am feeling like we are blending pretty well. Now we need to make some friends.

Oh, you won't have a problem with that! Landlord, flat, area, everything sounds fantastic. 513 sq ft will feel much smaller once all your visitors come a knockin. XO.

I second Nancy that you won't have a problem making friends! Glad to hear that things are going well and look forward to more of your blog :) Cheers to your new adventure.
